How would you define your style?

My style is based on how I feel and I feel different everyday. Some days I feel boho chic other days I may feel glamours.  I feel like no one thing defines me but I lean on classic silhouettes because it makes for easy dressing.

Who are your style icons?

I feel like I don’t have one icon so that makes this question hard to answer. If I have to narrow it down to one person it would be my mom she is an amazing seamstress. She has taught me everything I know about fashion. Some kids watched cartoons on Saturday morning and I watched Fashion TV on E! with my mom.

What is a social issue that you are passionate about?

I’m passionate about the state of women. We have so much power by merely existing. We set the standard for everything across the board. We need to harness our power and come together. We need more control of our image. I hope to inspire women to be comfortable within themselves and make the life they want no matter where they are in life.

What is your favorite style trend this season?

Fur! I have always wanted a fur coat and since it’s on trend it’s available every where. I want a stole, a coat, and a muff! I promise not to wear them all at the same time.

What is your go-to date night look?

This questions makes me laugh because I would need to go on a date in order to have a go to outfit. I do habitually buy dresses with the thought “this is a great dress to go on a date.” A dress that hugs in all the right places is my go to for every occasion.

What was it that made you want to start blogging?

I wanted a platform to express my creativity. I would blog and then fall off constantly. It wasn’t until I ran across a link for Gabifresh that made me feel like I should stick with blogging on a consistent basis.

What is one of your goals as a blogger?

To create community with the women who read my blog. As a black woman in America I feel like someone put me in a box without my consent. I want to reach more than just black women but I definitely want to use my voice as a black creative to inspire other women.

What is your favorite piece of clothing in your closet?

An orange dress that I got for Christmas a few years ago. I call it my art gallery opening dress. I just see myself somewhere sophisticated in it.

What is your favorite social media site/app?

Instagram is my favorite. It’s such an awesome platform I can follow my friends and Williams Sonoma!!

Which blogger do you admire the most?

I love Gabifresh, Mr Kate, Miss Kris, FeedNClotheMe, FinesseCurve, Quirky Brown Love, CurvyFabulousity there are just too many to name!
